The typical wines of Emilia-Romagna
The region's most iconic wine is Lambrusco, in its different denominations: Lambrusco di Sorbara, Grasparossa di Castelvetro and Salamino di Santa Croce, all linked to the Modena area. Alongside Lambrusco, Pignoletto (Grechetto Gentile) is the typical white of the hills between Modena and Bologna.
These are wines made for the table, an expression of one of Italy's richest gastronomic traditions.
Cleto Chiarli among Emilian producers
Founded in Modena in 1860, Cleto Chiarli is the oldest winery in Emilia-Romagna. Five generations of the Chiarli family have helped define and enhance Lambrusco, keeping 100% estate-grown grapes in the region's main growing areas.
This connection with the territory and with history makes Cleto Chiarli one of the reference names when it comes to Emilian wine.
A wide, recognisable range
The range covers every soul of Emilian wine: the Classic Collection with traditional Lambruscos and Pignoletto, the Premium Collection with labels such as Vecchia Modena and Vigneto Cialdini, and the Quintopasso project dedicated to Sorbara in the traditional method.
From everyday frizzante to fine sparkling wine, from red to white and rosé, it is a complete and recognisable offering.
The territory
The vineyards lie in the most suited areas: the Sorbara plain, between the Secchia and Panaro rivers, for Lambrusco di Sorbara; the hills of Castelvetro for Grasparossa; and the hills between Modena and Bologna for Pignoletto. Each area gives the wines a distinctive character.
Recognised in Italy and abroad
Cleto Chiarli wines are regularly awarded by Italian guides and international critics, from Gambero Rosso to Wine Enthusiast and Vinous. The winery is also a founding member of the "Custodi del Lambrusco" association, committed to enhancing Lambrusco in Italy and worldwide.
