Three Cleto Chiarli labels are the stars of the May 2026 Merum Selection, the curated list of the leading German-language reference magazine for high-quality Italian wine and culture. Published in both German and Italian, Merum caters to enthusiasts, importers, and industry professionals in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland — all markets where the search for authenticity is a constant. Appearing in this magazine means entering the radar of Northern Europe's most discerning palates.
The highest honour goes to the Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC Spumante Brut Vigneto Cialdini 2025, awarded three «hearts» — the absolute maximum on the Merum scale, a tier strictly reserved for «thrilling wines, of which no stash would last long».
Both the Vecchia Modena Premium 2025 and the Metodo del Fondatore 2025 — two Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC Spumante Brut — earned two «hearts», which in the Merum guide indicates a «very good wine, of which one would always want to keep a small supply in the cellar». These two wines represent the most classic and quintessential soul of our production.
This result confirms how the German market, which has been among the most important for Cleto Chiarli for decades, continues to recognise and reward a winery capable of expressing Lambrusco in all its facets: from the Grasparossa to the Sorbara grape varieties, and from the Charmat method to the ancestral method.
